Bessie Ella COLE Mrs. Bessie Sundstrom Bessie Ella Cole, daughter of Joel Sebastian Cole and Charlotte Palmer, was born July 30, 1877 in Carbon, Adams County, Iowa and passed away May 31, 1962 in Corning, Iowa at the age of 84 years, 10 months, and 1 day. She was united in marriage to Charley Sundstrom on May 4 1896. Mr. Sundstrom passes away September 18, 1913. Surviving are her three children, Otto Harold, Russel August, and Mrs. Lee (Beuna Augusta) Wright all of Corning. Also surviving are three grandchildren, two great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. George Powell of Canada, two brothers, Harry Cole of Massena, and Floyd Cole of Bridgewater; a nephew, Russell Johnson of Bridgewater, who was raised as a brother, and many other relatives. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, one sister, and five brothers. At an early age she became a member of the Methodist Church and was a faithful worker. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and other worthy organizations. He life was spent in service to others and her main interests were her church, her children, her grandchildren, and her friends. She loved to work with her flowers. Funeral services were held Sunday, June 3, 1962 at 2 p.m. from the Methodist Church in Corning, Iowa, with Rev. Brown Garlock officiating. Music was by Mrs. Brown Garlock, and Mrs. Joe Cook. Pall bearers were John Garlock, Galen Sanderson, August Johnson, Ernie Love, Raymond Richie, and Dr. M. T. Jennings. Flower bearers were Mrs. Leonard Adams and Mrs. Orville Lidden. Interment was in the Quincy Cemetery.
